Africa North to South

Disastrous events in Iran foiled Greg Alexander's 1978 expedition to India. He lost his Landrover and  his travel adventure business. He's wanted by the CIA. His marriage has ended. He's broke. He desperately needs to avoid taking an office job.

Fortunately, he is taken on as a driver and deputy expedition leader on a trip from London to Johannesburg . Perhaps, this time, things will go smoothly.

One of his colleagues has other ideas – to profit from smuggling. Once again, Greg has taken on more than he expected. With Kirsty, his co-driver, he faces difficult weather conditions, the theft of a tyrant's bullion, a coup d'état, murder and betrayal.

Can they get their passengers safely to Johannesburg without falling foul of either the CIA or the South African Police?

Based on historical events and inspired by a real-life journey, this story is a combination of travelogue, mystery, thriller and romance.

An exotic setting and tumultuous politics make an intriguing background to an exciting story. Add to that, convincing characters – a flawed protagonist, duplicitous passengers and unscrupulous secret agents – and it’s a recipe for a tense, engaging novel that is hard to put down.
